Ally has reached the level of basic pretend play. Last night I marveled at her as she loaded plastic animals onto a toy train and drove them around the living room singing a song I sing to the girls, "All Aboard The Choo Choo Train." It's possible that only I could've understood or recognized the song, but it was still really fun to watch.
Lately the girls are into the TV show "Yo Gabba Gabba". Strangest thing I have EVER SEEN. But apparently popular. So far, we've seen guest appearances by Jack Black, Tony Hawk, and some pro basketball player who I should have recognized but didn't. I'm not sure who introduced them to it, but it's hard to resist when Ally looks up at me with shining eyes, pleading "Gabba Gabba Gabba."
Both are also getting into arts and crafts at a very limited level, and the house is beginning to overflow with their treasures. I'm gonna need a system for getting rid of some of this stuff. Hmm. Maybe a set of the grandparents could use a woven basket made of newspaper and lovingly handpainted by the girls???
