Great News - New Neuro

It's been a bit of a tough fall as far as parenting goes.  Samantha has had an awful lot of seizures and seizure-like behavior.  She is now on an anti-seizure medication, which for a while was at a dose that had her in sort of a zombie mode, and her prior neurologist didn't seem to see anything wrong with that.

Pediatric neurologists are a bit hard to come by, so I am thrilled to report that Samantha had an appointment on Tuesday with a doc who I think is going to be a GREAT fit. She is located at Texas Children's Blue Bird Clinic for Pediatric Neurology.  She was very optimistic that, with some work, we can get Sam "seizure free with minimal side effects".  I sure like the goal - I just hope she's right!  So we're going to ramp her up on a new medication, Keppra, and wean her off of Trileptal, to see if we see improvements.  Hopefully, this will be the one. 


As my "bonus daughter", Deanna, recently reminded me:  "Having faith in God means also having faith in his timing."
